Starter motor pull cable
Does anyone know the size and thread of screw / bolt which secures the
starter cable into the switch lever of the starter? I have tried everything
in my British / US screw box without success, and find it easier to shout
for help than to take the starter out for more detailed examination!

Re: Starter motor pull cable
Hi Robin,
Not an easy one, I've measured the thread on one starter bolt to be
5/16 ins. by 24 TPI which is a UNF thread form. However, trying out
the thread on a spare copper terminal block, I found the thread form
 seemed to be 8mm X 1.25mm pitch.
It was usual to use a Brass thread form (26 TPI) for copper based
alloys which is similar to the fine metric pitch found on the engine
block (8mm X 1mm pitch), so yet another thread to try out.
   Regards, Eric.

Hi Robin,
Ooops, please disregard my earlier reply. I've just read your e-mail
again and realised that I'd jumped the gun, and assumed that you meant
 the electrical cable.
   Regards, Eric.
