Who are these guys

This is a posting I made out at the UK MG Forum back in Oct 2004. In this same thread is a posting from somebody named Amy who tries to defend laclairespares. I have had other dealings with them whereas I gave a neg rating on ebay and he hired some kind of arbitrator to try and resolve the conflict. They are located 15 mi. from my home, they being in Romeo, MI me being in Warren, Mi. He wanted me to ship the part to him and he would inspect it to determine if it was what he shipped and then would send me a refund. He would not agree to come and get it at my house nor would he agree for me to go to his place of (funny/funky) business and make an exchange. So I still got my wrong part and he is out the arbitrators fee. Greg & Grimm OK now I'm back in it with some more LacClaire knowledge/experience. In March of this year I bought my 'barn find' so I went to Barney Nobles and bought a Hemmings (hadn't bought one since mid '80's) and here's this add for MG Tseries parts located right here in MI 15 miles from my home. So I called and talked to a Dave (toll call) for $11.50 worth of minutes and could not get a sane answer as to what he had that I would be interested in and no you can't come and look because everything is in the barn and that takes too much trouble. So you make a list of what you want and calle me and I will tell you what I can do for you. Well I did that and low and be hold he siad he probably has all what I want but give him time to look for it. OK so I give him 4 weeks that puts us into end of April. He then tells me that ( I had to call him) he has alot of what I want but will not commit to a price neighborhood, let me get them together and then we can negotiate with out me seeing what I'm negotiating for. All very secretive. Well after a couple more $12 plus phone calls I finally got a price on some stuff and I said you want more than Moss and he said but you live close so you can come and get it with out shipping. I then made a BIG MISTAKE I said "man you are nuts everything you have that I said I was looking for is so much cheaper on eBay that (and it was still is) I'm going to stick with eBay and MG BBS's. You know what all of a sudden He show up on eBay he registered JUNE 16, 2004. Need I saw more. MG's don't need/deserve this type of sheister. Greg & Grimm

It's interesting to me that overall this eBay seller has a 98% positive feedback rating with 250 positive transactions in the last year compared to 7 negative with 4 of the negatives from the same buyer on the same day. However I doubt I would consider doing business with him based on this forum's opinion. Too bad.
