Chemotherapy for Wood Rot

I work with an engineer/ amateur wood boat builder and got into a conversation about the wood body frame on my TA and my uncertainty about what I would find as I delved into it. He shared with me different simple chemical methods (such as antifreeze) for stopping and repairing wood rot. He gave me the attached link to "Dave Carnell's Boatbuilding Page". Apparently, Dave is a retired chemist and wood boat building enthusiast. There is a 5 page article with simple formulae and experiments to demonstrate effectiveness.
