Gene, In looking at only the original black and white photos, all I see is black wires. Ben

I'm pretty sure the original stuff was black, but I'll leave it to someone who owned a TC when new to say yay or nay on that. The Lucas black & yellow (bumblebee) wire didn't come along until later. I know Triumph started using it in the mid 1960's, but have no idea when/if MG did. Having said that, I like the way the bumblebee wire looks on a T-Type. If you like it, use it. Those were special chrome-plated HT cables used on show cars. You know, the ones you see photos of that obviously had the chassis painted body color. All joking aside, I've seen the same thing in some old photos, but in most that I recall the HT cables looked black. -- Chip Old 1948 M.G. Typical HT lead in the 40s was cloth covered and of various colours. There were (and still are available) many different colours from specialist vintage electrical suppliers. Many of these covers have a fleck in them too. People like Holden and Complete Automobilist can supply. Most of the factory photos seem to indicate a light colour, some very light, whilst others do look very dark to black. There is definately variation from picture to picture so I doubt that they were too bothered at the manufacturing stage then. A typical common period cable would be a yellowy/ brown with a black fleck, or a red with black or yellow fleck. Clive ====================================
