aengine block repair

Post by Willbowden@aol.com » Fri May 11, 2001 7:38 pm

Drill stiching is aprocess of precision drilling holes and inserting interlocking pins. It is done in modern machine shops today mostly on heads, as they are probably easier to handle. Another process I have used is an Engine block/ head shop in Jax, FL.. It was a outer water passage on a TC block (Freeze?) This is an oven heating, welding, oven cooling process and was a bare block. ( I've done several heads also.) Again these were bare parts. I can supply the name and address if anybody needs it. My TC block had a similar crack on the outer water passage. I had it welded locally with some "cast iron rod" here in Orlando. Can try to find out what "rod" was used. I'm driving the TC.
