Whats the gist of music web sites etc. EASY I still haven't practiced downloding, or transfering pictures etc., and am shy of ecxcepting the WRONG websites. Hakers, or loading you with Junk mail, etc. (shh. while the heads of Microsoft are trying to recruit me, I'm far from a computor guy. LOL) cost? contracts? ETC. and what every I should be concerned with but do not know to ask? I just want to make a few CD's of music I like, I'm tired of buying a cd, that turns out to have 1 song I like, or only 1-3 new songs and all the rest are rehashed, from there last CD. Mark, If you are trying to get music without paying, you are trying to break the law. Good luck. There are lots of pitfalls and if you are caught, there are lots of ridiculous penalties. If you are trying to put together a few songs you like from CDs you have bought, that is easy. Robert Wichert P.Eng. Understood, Mark. I have found iTunes to be useable in that regard. Likewise CDBaby http://www.cdbaby.com/ . Amazon is probably also a way to go, but I haven't tried it. If you know what you want, you can sometimes get ONE SONG from the artist's web site. Also, sometimes, iTunes. None of these are sources of virii or bad karma. Cheers! Robert Wichert P.Eng. Mark, our county library subscribes to a music source freegalmusic which allows LEGALLY downloading up to 3 selections a week. They are 256kbps DRM free MP3 format, and I've found many, but not all, of the albums I see in articles. For example as to how current, Skyfall (Adele), Sweet (Dave Matthews Band). and Blown Away (Carrie Underwood), are available. He mentioned ... from CDs ... in Windows 7, ripping is a function of included tools ... insert CD and rip is an option. BE SURE to change from the windoze only format to MP3. George

Try pandora or spotify , don't bother downloading it just listen to artists and playlists for free with occasional ads or pay a little and get no ads [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hey All 1st off thanks for the advice, Helpfull as usual. 2nd. I have received aprox 9, reminders, that if I'm looking to avoid paying, (free?) that is against the law. (ME? I would point blank say STEALING. If you are a theif, at least be honest about what you are doing.) In my request I mentioned, COST, (by song or weekly, monthly ETC. ) CONTRACTS, ETC. I do not want to get into a long contract, over about 20-60 songs. I did get plenty of good advice, (AS USUAL) and sites to check out, including a reminder there are sights to just listen to a song so I can hear what is is before purchasing. PS. I use cap's to make a word stand out, I''m NOT yelling at anyone. while I do understand it's the modern TECHY thing to do when Yelling, and being mean to someone.. Thanks again Y'ALL

I use Spotify. You can get the free or the $9.99 per month version and have all the music available on your computer or your phone at anytime. Well worth it. Saves the hassle of downloading torrentz andtransfering music into itunes..... -David
