t-vent why a t?

Post by Bogdan Swider » Mon Nov 05, 2012 11:13 am

My ride was prone to stuttering in hot, clear weather - especially at high altitude here in Colorado. After doing the vent mod a Y vent for what ever its worth the situation didn't disappear but became rare. I can't prove it but it may be that when the pavement heats up, the vent tube which rides close to said pavement doesn t breath as well. The alternate tube which in my case rides much higher, is not effected - as much - by the high altitude sun. Do the mod; it's cheap and effective. Redundancy thats why.. :-) Gives the bugs two places to pack larve into.. :-) Actually the lower one will be blocked by water in a deep water incursion, the other end up under the seat stands a better chance of allowing the carb to vent. Can also happen in heavy rain on the road. Dooden A15 Green Ape

I want to ride in Nov, and currently have 15w40 in the KLR. The temps are at freezing and above. Is this oil ok? Crash
