center stand welded ??? y or y not?

I just went out and looked at my set up on the KLR. Yes, you could run a short bead along the top of the centerstand bracket to the footpeg mount on the frame. I really don't know if that would keep the bolts from coming loose due to the weight and pressure being applied to the pegs them selves. I had them come loose a few times when I first put on this centerstand about 10 years ago. Caught it on normal maintenance. I started using silicone seal on the bolts and have not had this problem since. In fact I use a dab of silicone seal on all the bolts and screws I take off and put back on. So far, have not lost a screw or bolt since been doing this. That being said, I'll probably lose one on todays ride about. LOL! I like the silicone betta than lock tight as it's comes apart mo easier. Andy in Jennings.
