to ping or not to ping?

Post by JWF » Sat Nov 19, 2011 8:00 pm

Somewhere between 50 and 65, my A13 sounds like it's pinging. Aside from just not wanting to believe that, I'm confused as to why it would ping. If the temp gauge is to be believed, it runs nice and cool. When I roll on throttle, the noise actually goes away, when loading the engine ought to make it worse. It doesn't make the sound at lower speeds, even in higher gears while rolling on. Switching to high octane hasn't changed it. Tell me it isn't pinging! Then tell me what the heck it is. -JWF

fork height, rake & trail

Decrease and allows for folks with legs "almost" long enough to push the bike backwards while on the seat, or gives ya that little bit of footing without lowering the rear. I have no ill effects o handling that I can notice, only needed about 3/4" drop for me. Dooden A15 Green Ape
