new battery is fading fast.
This bike isn't charging.
Here's the simple drill to check your battery and charging system with a volt meter. Charge the battery and let it stand. A good battery will take and hold a voltage of 12.6-12.8 volts. Crank the starter. Voltage across the terminals should not drop below 10v. If it does, the battery is suspect and probably failing. Charging voltage at idle should be in the neighborhood of 13.1 v. Voltage should rise with revs to something over 14v, at which point it should level out or fall off as the regulator cuts in.

We charged it up and the bike runs but something is screwy. Rev the engine and the volts go down to 10 versus 12-something at idle. > > I'll let you know what he determines is the problem but it is interesting that the brand new AGM battery was almost dead without any use in 2 weeks. > > Don R100, A6F > > --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Jeffrey" wrote: > > > > I got a new AGM battery but something is killing it. > > > > I found some corrosion on the starter relay/solenoid and > > cleaned it.
