racing vid

Im sitting here watching the Budds Creek National as I read this and watched the videos. It is amazing how many of the riders on the track are wearing thise little GoPro cameras. The footage is very good and gives you a good idea of what they're experiencing. It's funny too because I bet if you asked those guys they barely realize how much is really going on around them and to them (ie being hit by rocks and dirt). Really captures the speed. One of the best I've seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWJpOC-78Jk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWJpOC-78Jk&feature=related> &feature=related [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Post by Luc Legrain » Sun Jun 19, 2011 9:05 am

Guys, I dropped my '05..not riding.. on the pavement (concrete) it fell straight down on the left side and bent the left grip at about a 8 to10 degree angle compared to the right..throttle.. side . Stock handle bar . Any tricks you would know of to fix that ? Thanks. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Mine is bent and I just ride it. It doesn't seem to make any difference. Maybe not as far as yours, but it's noticeable to the eye, but not to the hands. Have you ridden it? You might find that it's not worth fixing. Give it half an hour. If you try to bend it without removing it, you will stress other things, like the forks, wheel, triple tree, etc. Those things may, or may not, have been stressed when you dropped it. Since that grip doesn't rotate, you could try using a pipe as a lever, but something has to take the reaction. My instinctive reaction would be to leave it, but if you can't stand it, then remove it and use a vise. Good luck! Robert P. Straightening steel handlebars will make the steel softer and will cause them to bend easier the next time. Send me your credit card and I ll show you some tricks ........
