klr and tow-behind trailer

Post by wollybugger » Tue Jun 14, 2011 6:58 pm

As one who has had both a hack and a trailer and a hack and trailer together, I say go for it. In fact, I have had my eye on and Eaglemate trailer, though it will be in the future. With either a hack or a trailer, you need to be aware that your driving dynamics have change and you must learn to operate in the new environment. Right now, I get all my gear on my KLR but the fact is it becomes very top heavy which also makes it a different riding dynamic that can get you in trouble just as fast as a trailer or a hack. vista cruise installation question

Post by fw189uhu » Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:37 am

Hi Fred Been reading up on how to install the Vista Cruise on '08s and later (mine's an '09). It appears installation is a snap on pre-08s but a PITA on the later models. I've read C. Eckert's write-up on your site and presume this is the latest info on how to get the VC to fit. Literally everybody I've talked to or read about loves the unit, so I'm greatly interested in getting one--just concerned about the amount of work it's gonna take to get it installed. I'm not clear on whether I need the "universal" or "standard" model--both of which have been referred to on various websites. Suggestions? Thanks. Dave

vista cruise installation question

I used the universal one. The part number is in the write up. Grinding down the screw by stickign it in a drill or drill press is pretty easy. Just use the measurements in the write up. In addition to thousands of miles the vista has finished a Pine Barens 300 in 2009 and the Roaming Rally this year. It has never had an issue or even needed adjusting since it was put on. I think it has been one of the handiest and cheapest Mods I have done so far Christopher Eckert A.k.a.
