clutch cable, release lever
(Apologies if this is duplicate, but I think I screwed up posting last
night, as I don't see it listed)
I got that bugger!! Thanks to Fred, John, Mark & Stu
who got me thinking more about the slack issue.
A couple accounts talk about not having to mess with the cable
adjustments, just undo that cable clamp down at the bottom.
Because of the way that barrel wouldn't move aft regardless of
slack, I didn't see what loosening it more would do for me.
Well, as part of my preparations, I had zip-tied the coolant
hoses out of the way and without realizing had "included" the
clutch cable in that bright idea, thus putting just a bit more
tension than desired on the cable. Undid that thing, and that
gave me just the little more slack that I needed to be able to
angle that barrel more so as to get the cable itself out thru
that notch.
Like a couple of you said, you have to monkey with it
and take it out at an angle.
Sometimes (a lot of times, my wife says) I'm guilty of over-thinking
things.
Thanks again, guys, for helping me out of my tunnel vision!
This group was one of the reasons I chose this bike (I had been
lurking for a long time before), and this was a prime example.
Take care, all -
Mike
