klr 650 headlight
Use the existing headlight switch and wiring to activate a relay and add heavier gauge wire from the battery directly to the headlight. That alone made a huge difference on both my 1st gen KLR650s. Also, I trail ride a bunch so I added aux lighting in various forms.
First I replaced the heavy fairing and frame mounted fairing stay (headlight bracket)on my '06 with a fork mounted KLR250/600 number plate style fairing. It didn't look as good to me as I thought the military bikes looked... and the aux lighting I added also turned with the forks.
On the '04 I have now I am running frame mounted dual round headlights and will add some aux lighting to turn with the forks later. Between the relays and the various points of light, should see and be seen well.

looking for 84-600 tank
While doing some spring cleaning & prep work on my old 1984 KLR 600 I found the tank has rusted a hole in it. Anyone have an old one laying in their parts pile anywhere?
