ALSO ANY ONE HAVE REBUILT? IS THE KAWASAKI CRANKSHAFT INSTALLATION JIG P/N 57001-1174 REALLY NECCISSARY??

It's probably aluminum, and quite normal for a KLR of that mileage.

SPLIT CASES.. FOUD SHAVING AT INNER SIDE OF TRANS INPUT SHAFT. IT WAS SHAVED DOWN LIKE IT WAS IN A LATHE, AND THE BUSHING ON THE LEFT CRANKCASE ALSO SHAVED AWAY ... CAUSE UNKNOWN.. WILL REPLACE ALL. ALSO FOUND SCORING IN THE OIL PUMP..
