But with over 18k miles with it, it has not let me down. I've ridden up to 80mph and do not have any buffeting wind in my face or at my head. I can ride with (full face helmet) the shield up (especially in the summer for fresh air) using sunglasses of course. Very quiet not a lot of noise and easy to talk on my Scala Team rider Bluetooth headset. I did not purchase the Laminar Lip that is now designed for the +4 screen I purchased the original for the shorter screen and it works fine and it is not too expensive even if you combine the two prices. It pushes the air up and over the helmet. Works excellent for me. If not I would have switched to another option. http://www.laminarlip.com/klr650.php Ride safe! windshield / deflector recommendations for 6'+ rider ['08 klr]
I have the Laminar lip on my BMW. will most likely get one for the KLR this spring.
ISSUES? Finding the "sweetspot" can be a small issue.
Example 1st. time, you put in on and ride, the thing Do'nt seem worth it. then you adjust it for YOUR "NATURAL" riding possition, a few times and NICE.
I kept sitting up straight for the test, then after a few minutes, slouched, as I (wrongly) to often do.
thats why some advise taping or clamping on for a test ride to find YOUR "SWEETSPOT" BEFORE, installing the VERY VERY STRONG "velcro" tabs to the windshield.
You order the Laminar lip for "A spicific Bike" BUT, With differant windshields to start with, and seats, and your height, and wieght, AND... THE WAY YOU SIT, you have to find the sweetspot for YOU, more then that bike.
just takes a few test rides and all set.
