new triumph adventure bikes coming soon

Post by SM » Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:01 am

I can't wait to wad one of those up the first time I hit a dirt berm over 2" tall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.triumphadventure.com/ From the commercial / short film at the website above. It looks like 2 models. One has cast wheels, the other, spoked. Sounds like a big triple motor, maybe their 1050? I used to own a 98 Tiger, bought off another lister. Great bike, but even on a lightly rutted dirt road it was too heavy, too top heavy. Heck, I'm a big fan of Triumph, I am really looking forward to checking out the new scooter. I reckon I'm more likely to replace my 07 1050 Tiger with the new model than I am to replace my KLR with it. Rode my Tiger through the mountains of New Mexico a couple of years ago, all I could think was "Crap! Look at all those dirt roads! Wish I had my KLR...". OK, I also thought "Crap! I wish this rain would stop!" Thanks CA Stu A13 PS This may be NKLR, I certainly don't think the new bikes will be 50/50 capable thumpers.

Heck there are a lot of round the world rides happening on Harleys and other non dirt bikes. The little Bonny with the scrappy looking tires and the high pipe would have been a good choice for a ride like that > > --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, E Hines wrote: > > > > http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/642/7393/Motorcycle-Article/Triumph-Touts-New-Adventure-Bikes.aspx > > > > > > A triple adventure bike to compete with the 1200GS or maybe something to compete > > with the new 800GS or both??????????????? > > >
