I've been lurking around this web site for a couple of months. I used to be a regular a few years ago when I had a KLR. I haven't ridden anything for a year and a half, following an accident in Arizona while on a ride with Fast Eddie Copeman which left me in the hospital for 60 days. Yesterday, I rode home on a new 09 KLR 650. It was my first ride since the accident and it felt good to again be in the saddle and to be on a KLR. However, I won't consider my recovery complete until I again eat some Arizona dust behind Fast Eddie. And, now that I am riding again, I can apply for membership in C.O.B.B. (If you don't know what that exclusive club is, you can look it up, though I do hope none of you are ever eligible if you are not already.)

back in the saddle
Joe's accident occurred when an on-coming car dropped his right wheels off the pavement just as he passed me (texting...?), then overcorrected to his left, which put him into our lane between me and Joe (and my wife in Joe's sidecar).
Without going into the awful details, his car hit Joe knocking him off onto the highway, and the car close behind that one then drove over Joe's legs.
My wife was NOT hurt, but won't ride ever again.
WELCOME BACK OLD BUDDY!

You're right, Rev, better to put the $30 into KLR farkle. Just being elgible is enough; one doesn't actually have to join. Actually, I'm still a bit of a prude. If they had called it Cripple Old Biker Boys and Babes, I'd send them my $30 and get my sticker, but I'm particular what I post on my bike and bastards and and bitches is a little over the line for me.
