reserve gas
Hey... not that I did this, but if I were to drive with the reserve
on until it ran out, how do I fill up my reserve again.

reserve gas
just put fuel back ing the tank.
reserve comes into play when the fuel level drops below a certain level.
Then you have to switch the valv to "reserve to use the rest of the fuel.
also if you run out of reserve you can tip the bike over on it's left side an go a little bit longer since some fuel does not make it from the left side of the tank when in reserve. Understand?

reserve gas
if you run out of gas on reserve tilt the bike all the way down on the ground to the left side and shake it around some and if you are lucky theres a gas station within a couple of miles or more? you will make it. To answer your question just put the petcock on- ON before you fill up and your good to go.

reserve gas
Just did this the other day andddd,
Filling the reserve - pull into gas station - select grade of gas - insert nozzle into tank - squeeze lever until desired fill is achieved - release lever - pull out of tank and hook back on the pump - pay the person behind the counter -----
SWITCH THE PETCOCK BACK TO "ON" (I sometimes forget this part and then must do the leaning the bike to the left side to get at the petrol from the I'm stupid reserve section of the tank)

The "I'm stupid reserve kit" can be better described to you here:
http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html#knownissues under "Gas in the
right side of tank" or to quote that specific part:
Gas in the right side of the tank
Because of the gas tank design, even if you run dry on reserve, there
will still be gas in the right side of the tank. To get at this gas
in an emergency, tilt the bike over to the left as far as possible,
and start riding again. You may be able to repeat this process a few
times. This can be avoided by installing Skip Faulkner's fuel tank
mod.
Either way, if you havn't yet, check out the faq
.

I would never install Skip's mod because having that little bit of hidden fuel will probably keep me from pushing the bike a lot...

Can you put premium in your reserve and regular gas in your main tank? ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]> on until it ran out, how do I fill up my reserve again.

reserve gas
Hi all,
Ok, so I was riding to the beach in Galveston and Freeport TX today with what I thought would be enough gas. Well the gas ran out and I tried to use the reserve function and nothing happened, the reserve did not give any fuel. I tried tipping the bike left/right and was able to squeze one mile to the gas station, well actually had to push the bike the last 300 yards.
So, the question is, did I use the reserve function incorrectly or is there a problem there? When I filled up, it read 4.6 gallons to the top, so there should have been a gallon and a half left right?

reserve gas
Sounds like something wrong to me. I have put "nearly" six gallons in mine after running it completely out and tipping it left to get more.
Valve?
