After exiting the interstate I mirror checked the kid splitting a few cars to stand beside me in the right side tire groove. He yelled thru his full face "Damn!! That dirt bike'll do 107 miles per hour?!!" Now I got my ham fisted reassembly of the top end that clatters slap for 3 to 5 seconds (7 or more when it's real cold) on start up and oil consumption from blowing by them rings... with the wind to my back and a jato strapped it might get to red line and 107 again, but it's self limited to about 98mph and a few hundred revs below scarlet now. OK, so I figure it was "with the wind", as you stated, and the wind was a 9 mph wind. Horsepower needs to increase exponentially (squared) to increase speed linearly, but wind is one-to-one.
