I was waiting at a stoplight, second car back. An older man and what I can only assume was his granddaughter were walking on the sidewalk on the other side of the street.
as they were directly beside me, the girl (about 4 years old) broke away from grandpa and ran into the street. The light had just turned green. I cut the wheel quickly and jumped across the lane to shield her from oncoming traffic. I pissed a lot of people off, though.
