broken footpeg bolts

I did it again..I broke the bolts on my KLR. Actually they stripped out and the peg fell off while riding. This happened once before. I drilled and inserted a heli coil. and new 8mm bolts..But it happened again..Anybody hear of a good upgrage to the crappy peg brackets welded to the frame? For now I just drilled them out and tapped it to a 10mm bolt applied a little jb weld to the inside of the brakets and used some red locktite to the bolts and..well I hope it is the last time this happens... Help me! Rodney

<> Rodney - I changed out mine with Dual Star pegs. They're serrated and folding with self locking nuts on the bolts. Never a problem with them. I know Dual Star may be no longer (not sure on that) but the changed out pegs are great. The foot peg bracket which the pegs are bolted seems strong enough. Haven't heard of any problems with those?
