KLRs made a big showing and did us proud. While other brands suffered electrical failures, bent front ends, carb parts falling off and even a rear hub breaking as far as I know all of the KLRs were still in good shape at the end, albeit missing some plastic here and there. That is saying something given the pounding that some parts of the course imparted on us. A few bikes DNFed in spectacular fashion and there were several tire repairs performed both in the woods and at the lunch stop or hotel. We even helped pull one bikes front end back into alignment at Wawa on Saturday.
The folks who put this on should be commended for all their hard work. The ride was very well organized and wanting for nothing. The route was amazing and crews were available for any calamity. Even the food at the Saturday dinner was good.
I have 8 gig of photos and video to go through between mine and the images from others that swapped images with me. As soon as I can go through them I will put some KLR images up in the file section. Untill then I am gong to put myself in a Ibuprophene induced comma and relax for a while

klr 650 doohickey sticker
Hi,
This is my first post.
I purchased a used green 2003 KLR 650 from the Kawasaki dealer in Winston Salem NC several years ago. The KLR 650 is a fantastic motorcycle. There is a faded blue and red oval sticker on the left hand gear case cover near the starter. I can just make out the word Doohickey.
1. Does the sticker mean that the previous owner probably installed a doohickey kit?
2. Has any one seen a similar sticker?
The dealer said my motorcycle was a tradein from a customer who bought a new KLR650. He said the previous owner was from Australia and was touring the USA. I appreciate the comments from the
Group especially from Jeff Saline and Fred.

Sounds like you might have gotten one with a doohickey replacement already
done.
Only way to know is to open 'er'up as far as I know, however.
