head interchangeability

Does anyone know if an '09 head will fit an '02. I see there is an extra outlet from the water jacket just ahead of the sparkpug for some sort of pipe (Anyone know where this goes?). Otherwise, they seem pretty similar. Will it fit? Thanks Hal in Halifax
