Chris, What year is your KLR? The fork boots need to be left where they were from the factory. The mounting clamp for the UFO fender fits over top of the bottom edge of the fork boots. You may need longer bolts for the mounting clamps, as some have mentioned that this makes the install easier. I have installed lots of these fenders on the early model KLR and haven't had a problem. I know they are not designed specifically for the KLR so I don't expect it to be perfect. But I do want those boots to be in place to protect the fork seals. Anybody have better luck?
