nklr: dirt bike instruction

Post by Randall Marbach » Wed May 20, 2009 11:01 pm

I can second Jim's opinion of Admo-Tours, they are a first class outfit. Here is a ride report I did about Admo-Tours a few years back. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59039> HTH Randy from Burbank ________________________________ From: The Reverend To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, May 20, 2009 5:41:51 PM Subject: RE: [DSN_KLR650] nklr: dirt bike instruction Way cool, and with more than a few Angelenos here, you could post up your full impression and stuff and I'm sure we'd all enjoy it. El Mirage has the benefit of flat lake to test top speed on, the foot hills for fast bumpy stuff and then more technical rocks/mountainous stuff, so it's an excellent area for practicing on your own too. We used to load up the quads and camp out there for a night or two and ride all day all around that place. That's how I learned that a Joshua tree can cut the sh!t out of your head. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of jim reinhart No affiliation - just a happy rider. My wife, brother-in-law and I were in LA for a week from the East Coast (CT, NY) and signed up with Admo-Tours for a day of dirt bike instruction. As novices, we spent the am in El Mirage (lake bed) OHV area, quickly and effectively learning the basics. The pm was spent on a lively ride around the hills. The instructor/owner, Uwe, could not have been more professional, friendlier, or better organized. He even had the right size pants for my wife who didn't want to tell him her weight! As a KLRista of five years, I learned a lot. Learning dirt bike basics has doubled my confidence and tripled my fun riding the KLR. I had done some reading and glanced at a video but nothing compared to the day in the desert last week. The cost going in seemed fair, coming out, a bargain. I highly recommend any dirt bike instruction for folks like me with only a road riding background and specifically can vouch for Uwe and Admo Tours.
