chain guide

Post by Rick McCauley » Tue May 12, 2009 9:27 am

FYI I just purchased a replacement chain guide from Formtech Services in Pahrump NV. http://www.hotfootmoto.com/Site_2/Kawasaki_Sliders.html At first look, I thought this product looked a little cheesy. Once it is installed it looks fine. It can be installed without removing the swingarm, but if you don't remove the sprocket, it is a tight fit. If you use a 16 tooth front sprocket, I believe you would have to remove it. The ability to put it on with the swingarm in place will cost ya. The price is $35.75 but at least there is no shipping charges in continental U.S. The OEM is $27.16. But it would be $33.00 (approx) with shipping from my dealer who is 60 miles away. For only $3.00 more I bought the Formtech because they claim their's will outlast the OEM. We will see, we will see. If you have a dealer close to home, then the OEM would be the way to go IMHO.
