in market for stator. what is the best, what to stay away from?

I am getting ready to do the doo. I want to upgrade my stator at the same time I upgrade the doohickey with torsion spring. I was going to get the 280 or maybee the 300 watt stator. I have heard the 400 is unreliable. Can you tell me which one is good and what aftermarket stators have failed on you?
