painted pelican - nklr-ish

Post by eddiebmauri » Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:58 pm

A while back I asked about how to paint a Pelican Bag. I got a bunch of private replies where I was being told NOT to do it. I did it. I painted a Pelican Bag. Why? I bought a used Pelican 1550 on ebay for $10, plus $10 for shipping. Great deal, but the Pelican had several holes cut into it, the holes were easy to fix, the problem is that the bag was International Safety Orange color! Yuck! I used Krylon Fusion (Satin Black - looks like flat black) spray paint that is made for plastic. It looks OK, at best. But, it sure looks a hell of a lot better than International Safety Orange. Some suggested that I use spray on bed liner. I might try that if the paint begins to fail. I could care less if the bag is not too pretty,...... I use it as a trunk and mounter it over the rear deck. It aint' pretty but it is a lot better than Orange. Eddie (03' KLR650 - "la poderosa")
