owner maintenance (lack of)

Post by stevedyer@cox.net » Tue Feb 03, 2009 11:34 am

Happens more often than many would believe. I knew two car owners to have done the same thing, one from ignorance and the other from obstinance. Steve --------------- On that note.......People have varying views as to what maintenance consists of. I work with a woman that owned a Toyota. She s an art historian that had a good book on Toulouse Lautrec published FWIW. She, true to her type, consulted Consumer Reports before choosing this car. She kept it spotless, inside and out. Around 60k or 70k miles it was in the shop for some reason. The mechanic checked the oil and found something like mud at the end of the dipstick. She never had changed the oil, not once. Imagine the poor slob that eventually ended up with that car. It was very clean and a brand known for longevity.
