big gun exhaust for nklr

Don't be ridiculous. It is well documented that noise is the number one reason for losing riding areasin the United States. If you have a Big Gun Quiet series and keep it freshly packed, you won't fall into the "loud pipe" category. If you fail to repack it after about 1000 miles, you are on the edge of being loud. After 2000 miles without a repack, you will be annoying as hell and may as well get a doo rag. Even blind people hate loud pipes. Thanks CA Stu PS A bike with a stock pipe "cutting across someomeone else's land" would be a hell of a lot likely to be noticed that one with a Big Gun race series.

I agree with this and would add that for me loud pipes are another manifestation of an ever increasing noise pollution problem. Loud bike and car exhausts. Being surrounded by beeping electronic devices. Low flying helicopters. Phone talkers everywhere. Dogs that keep barking. Gas powered lawn tools and ad nauseam. Just because one has the right doesn't make it "right." It's about being considerate and also about choosing the place, timing and frequency when making noise. Common Courtesy, Let's Bring it Back. big gun exhaust for nklr

I can still remember what 2 Veteran (literally, on this Veteran's Day) riders told me back in the early 70s, before I even had my driver's license: "Think of a family having a picnic in their yard, in the park, or just enjoying a quiet afternoon somewhere. 20 motorcycles go past, and they don't notice because they aren't making a lot of noise. Then one with a loud pipe goes by. They notice THAT, and associate all bikes as noise makers." I've had some loud bikes in my life, but those were track bikes. Even then, I would have rather they been quieter than they were. All of my current street legal bikes are ones that I would not hesitate to start up at 2AM and ride away, knowing that it wouldn't bother any neighbors. Mike

Depends on if it's viral or bacterial.
