suspension upgrade
Hi all,
I had a read through the archives on the Suspension topic, and heard "Progressive" mentioned more than anything else. Just as an update for me, which is the best/cost effective replacement suspension upgrade for the KLR. I want to do both ends. I had contemplated spending the extra $$$ to buy a KTM Adventure or a Husky 610TE-E, but have decided I love the KLR and will up grade the suspension both ends and have a second set of rims relaced to 17inch for supermoto look.
The rear of the KLR skips terribly at the moment, and the front brakes have NO bite, so I might as well do that too...
Thanks in advance
Cheers from Downunder

suspension upgrade
Hello All-
I recently installed a "short" progressive rear shock and progressive
front springs on my '06 KLR. I returned to the stock links from 2"
lowering links and left the fork tubes raised an inch. The height of
the bike is more manageable for me now but the thing I am most pleased
with is the feel of the suspension. The difference is night and day.
I would recommend it for anyone dissatisfied with the stock height and
suspension.

valve adjust interval
It is indeed a sad time. Ridinig season has come to an end. I'm putting
my 2001 KLR into semi-storage (short trips only in winter months). I
last adjusted valves at 9000 miles. They were within acceptable limits
then, but I shimmed them to the upper limit anyway. Now I'm at 22K
miles. No problems, running great, starts good etc. Is it recommended
that the valves be checked? PS-I don't like doing this job. Its a king
size PITA.
