Walt and others, DING! DING! DING! The real bargin begins when you get free shipping! I order the set of tires I need, and the set I WILL need, cough, obtaining the free shipping----because storage is not a problem. YMMV or storage may vary! I also like having a full set in standby if I trash a tire. The riding season is to short to have to wait for a tire, or drive the distances we have here hoping you will find one when you get there. With Kenda's I buy two rear, one front each time, as I usually get 2x wear on the front for each rear. and free shipping. I have bought from here-- http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparr ... asp?family% 5Fid=434&gift=False&mscssid=A61D5EBFA5EA4377B976D6CE392527CE The initial price may not be as good, but is competitive when free shipping is figured into the bottom line. That said, last month, I full trashed the front tire in less than one month, traveling 5,700 miles--but suspect the blown fork seals may have contributed to the tires unusually fast wear pattern. Others on the list do that several times in a single riding season. Two sets of tires is the most I have ever wore out in one year. (But I am going to work hard to change that next year!) Along those same lines of keeping a spare--I have a spare tube and rim strip for every wheel size/bike in the garage. Some have discussed here the manufacture date as being important to them--and some of the tires I have bought during the past 5 years have been over 3 years old, one might have been 5 years old. shrug. Might be why some tire are sold cheaper than others. I remember someone posted that they spoke to the folks as SW MOTO and the salesman actually quoted the tire manufacture date--as less than 6 m old. It was important to them--personally I think clean gas is more important than when the tire was manufactured, cough, but only because I had to drain my carb (twice) last tuesday while sitting at the gas pump! and so it goes. revmaaatin.
