klr250 tires, chain, sprockets?

Post by Thor Lancelot Simon » Tue Aug 26, 2008 10:52 pm

I'm probably about to buy a *really* trashed-out 250. It looks like it may need a chain, sprockets, and tires just to ride it home -- and it's not far from my home, either. :-) I have a spare -- new, kinda nice -- chain and sprockets from the '02 650 I sold last year. Will the sprockets fit? What are the tire sizes on a 250? I have some tires I took off the 650 that probably have some miles left in them too. Thor

With plastic end of screwdriver, tap the carb around the flange that holds the float bowl on, maybe pull the drain plug and drain the bowl a couple times to flush it. Put a small tube on the nipple and collect in a clear cantainer so you can see what comes out of the drain. SeaFoam is good stuff, but if you have something lodged like a partical of gasket, or petcock O-ring shredd it aint taking that out of any system. Unlike my recently quit working speedo I can ride without that, fuel delivery is kinda critical to enjoying the ride.
