c-stand effects oil change ???
OK ya'll, gimmie a clue about a Center Stand vs. oil changes.
I have a Center Stand on my KLR and I love the C-Stand, but it seems
to effect oil changes. I should add that I mostly ride on concrete,
and do no serious off road riding, so I have no concerns of bottoming
out the C-Stand when off road.
Anyway, when I changed the oil last time, I left the bike on the
center stand. The oil did not fully drain, and I wound up with a mix
of old and new oil. I added the correct amount of oil, and I over
filled the bike, and had to drain some of the oil. I change oil and
filter every 2K.
In the past, when I changed the oil, I left my bike on the side stand,
and it seems to drain much better and more fully than when on the
center stand. When I left the bike on the side stand when changing
the oil, I also tip the bike on its left side a little and fully
drained the oil.
So, my question is, have any of you noticed that the oil does not
fully drain if you leave the bike on the center stand when you change
the oil?
My guess is that the center stand holds the bike level and does not
allow all the oil to fully drain? Just a guess? Or do you all find
that the center stand has no effect on the amount of oil that drains?
