8000 miles on my 2008
Madly in love with the beast. dont miss the 04 at all. It does consume oil though, about a qt every 750 miles. Pelican panniers due any day now which will finish the rig. I like the brakes and comfort most of all.
Mods include Throttle lock, IMS Swivel pegs, Givi Trunk, Heated troller for vest, heated grips, 12 volt outlette, Zumo 550, High output headlamp, various and sundry ADV stickers.

Matteeanne, Q1.How are you managing the oil consumption? ie when it gets to the top of the sight glass, do you add oil, (how much) or the bottom of the sight gage and then add oil (how much) etc. Just how do you know/measure it is 1qt every 750 miles? Q2. Shouldn't that much oil consumption be a warrenty issue? AT 8000 miles, sounds like you are changing the gas right often. revmaaatin.>

I have until July to take up warranty issues, but like the torn seat seam, I have read that dealers are not budging on either topic. We shall see. I am working 7 days a week, so I have to say I put oil in every (Doh!) and have let it get a full quart low before remembering.
On a cool note, the guy who bought my 04; (27k miles wrecked and rebuilt) $3200 (extremeley modded) has emailed me a dozen times to say thanks and let me know about his satisfaction and adventures.

Carrollton , TX Kawasaki replaced the seat with no problems, it's a warranty issue and they should do it at no charge! I would start calling around other Kawa dealers and if that does not work contact Kawasaki, there has been quite a few of these seats replaced! What's interesting is all this talk about oil usage and I'm not having anything of those yet, 3800 miles so fer..> > I have until July to take up warranty issues, but like the torn seat > seam, I have read that dealers are not budging on either topic. We > shall see. nklr: 8d. where's the klr club?
I've never met the man, talked to him, talked to others about him, or
received a reply to several e-mails I've sent him over the years
but ...
I don't know about your politics but all my e-mails to him were about
his promotion of the Bush Administration and its policies surrounding
the Iraq War, in our club's monthly "motorcycle" publication, the
AirMail. I paid my dues because of my interest in these motorcycles
not to get preached to by a Rush Linbaugh "ditto head".
