shift a certain way? I found it today. It's the gear you hit when the bike throws the chain at 70mph. I'm the luckiest unlucky man in the world. No holes in the engine cases, no wadding up and locking up the rear, no bleeding from my legs. Yeehaw!! Too bad I left my spare chain at home in the garage. This was after both right side passenger footpeg bolts and the right side rack mount bolt disappeared on me. Yup, on the road again and lookin' for adventure. (or whatever comes my way!) da Vermonster more T-storms in the forecast for tomorrow!!!> > there is a phantom 6th gear? why can I never find it? Do you have to

klr 2008 sidestand
I just finished shortening my sidestand to accomodate lowering
links, and wanted to pass on a dimension which is not in the service
manual, for those who may be interested.
The wall thickness for the sidestand is 1/16 inch, the inside diameter
is 7/8 inch.
I cut out 1 1/8 inch from the lower section, and put a piece of 7/8
OD pipe about an inch long inside to join them, then welded it up.
To get the foot angle right, I put a long scratch mark on before
cutting anything, then matched it up for the weld.
Lots of luck.
