new front brake pads & 320mm rotor

Post by JAMES BUCK » Sat Mar 01, 2008 1:49 pm

OK, Fred, I just realized what the problem is. I have also installed progressive fork springs, and after finally getting the bike off the jack, I realized that the forks are not aligned properly. I just didn't look at the problem long enough before posting. Thanks for your input! I'll update after I've corrected that issue..... James, Dallas

Until a less $hitty photo surfaces, my money's on the doohickey, the part that fits on the shaft. To the OP: When you stated that it was replaced, did you use an OEM one? Mark

What do you think it is? I've got my OEM doohickey here in front of me and I think what's sticking out of the drain hole is the piece that seats on the shaft. That part is fairly thick and is beveled for about 3/4 of its thickness. I think I can see that detail in the photo at the bottom portion of the broken part. Look along the jagged edge.

Make sure you are looking at the largest downloadable version of the picture on the original site. I just found my original doo and took this: http://wombatz.com/doo.jpg The left is the one in question. The right is my old but not broken doo. It is pretty obvious to me. -- Doug Herr doug@...
