Yes, and life should be an adventure of its kind. Just to stay married to the same girl for 35 years, and raise a family of four, was an adventure. Those stupid motorcycles of mine are an adventure, even when they are in the stable.! I decided to change the metal oil filter on my YBR, after 2250 kilometers, and it involved taking off the right side cover, the kickstarter, and the electric starter, but whoow, on the foot pedal there was a sort of metal bracket to protect the foot from touching the engine cover. Very thoughtful of the Chinese. So it was either removing the entire side-stand center-stand thing, or getting hold of the good old hacksaw, and getting rid of this bracket made of steel wire. You already know the outcome, back to downgrading getting rid of what is not necessary. The interesting part was that there was muddy residue on the bottom of the crankcase, but the filter was clean mostly. After all the bending and kneeling, I give my back a rest, using a muscle relaxant called Teacher Highland Cream 86 proof. Sweet! I thought you might want to know, as we all are interested in motorized two wheelers. The text of this YBR manual is hilarious Chinglish, but it can be understood, and that is the purpose of language in the first place. The KLR is just waiting for the tank to be repaired and painted, and off we go. I will conveniently forget about the cleaning of the KLR s metal oil filter, as it involves taking off the water pump and all that, and for the time being I have seen enough motorcycle innards. The secret is the "junk science" phrase.
