actually, I got the idea from the Hawk list. It worked the same way there and I noticed it built community. As Bierdo has noted, if you want to see what a dual sport list is with no off-topic banter than subscribe to DSN_DR. Nice bunch of guys and gals but you might as well be selling a wood burning stove in the desert during July... NKLR has roared back to life, after being given up for dead by all the oil,
chain, and doohickey threads.

Unfortunately for those of use who view this list in an e-mail
delivered digest form, we do not have the opportunity to filter out
individual NKLR e-mails.
Many times I enjoy the NKLR posts that
have been part of this list, so I probably wouldn't filter them out
even if I could. It seems recently the percentage of NKLR posts has become
overwhelming. I'm not asking for a change in any way, just posting my
thoughts on the subject!

I always looked at the NKLR posts as a way to peek
into the individual personality of the person who
wrote it. After all, the KLR650 group is people, and
it is nice to share thoughts or jokes with fellows KLR
riders, whom I will probably never have the chance to
meet,if you want straight mechanical go to the Clymer,
if you want how, why, good mods, feed back, read on this
list, it is like the old hardware store where people
seat around and act like humans, you leave with a
smile on your face and a good bit of info.
Luc.
not working today and thinking about cleaning the
chain.

I want to respond to you Luc without alienating you or anyone else on this list. I come here, as I'm sure a LOT of listers do for the valuable information on KLRs. Considering the size of the member base, and the few listers who are regular posters, that makes sense. I come here for the experience and know how of those posters that share that knowledge. I don't come here for jokes Luc as I already have far too many of them being sent to me in my e-mail. Neither will I rely on Clymer, although I have a copy for reference. Problem is I'm not a mechanic and understanding Clymer is nowhere as easy as reading an explanation by an experienced KLR owner. I've been on this list bout 5 years now and you probably don't recognize my name. That's because I'm here to gain information on my KLR and how to keep it running, from the people on this list that generously offer that information. When the day comes that I can help someone on this list in any way I will do so gladly and freely. What you won't see me doing is telling jokes on a list like this. That's just not me.>I always looked at the NKLR posts as a way to peek >into the individual personality of the person who >wrote it. Luc you got a great attitude. pleasure to read your emails. Been
riding the 08 KLR almost 3000 miles now. simply love it. most people
say it's the best lookin bike ever, the rest pick on me and call it a
50cc dirt bike.there is no question if they were on a 1400 mile ride
with me they would be beggin me to either slow down or let them ride
the KLR.It is a stock 08 KLR with a 52 liter Givi top box. I see in
the klr pics some one has a square black box with a new tire stacked
on top.looks like the way to go,does any one know what that box is and
where to get one?

When did you come over to the dark side? Do the rest of the Airheads know about this? I didn't even know you had a KLR (but I'm not surprised given your ...collection....). Got a GS you want to sell cheap?
