kl250 owners? (now tire suggestions)

Post by T.W. Day » Mon Jul 23, 2007 1:51 pm

I'm still in the "asking for advice on the KL250" mode, I hope this isn't too boring for the KLR'ers. I'm thinking about going full road tires on the KL. It, currently, has a pair of Dunlop knobbies and I am wearing them out fast. I expect to use the bike about 75/25 road/off-road and don't think I need off-road tires for anything I will be doing. I get along fine on my DL-650 with Metzler ME880 tires on the dirt roads I travel. The KL would be better on those roads with just the rims. ;-) Has anyone SuperMoto'd a KL with street tires and, if so, what tires did you use? T.W. Ah. Canuckistan. Where the ethical standards of "if you don't get caught, it's not a crime" and "if you don't like it, see this middle finger?" haven't taken hold (yet). Sadly, the same is not true in many parts of the United States. I would blame it on decades of corrupt leadership at the top setting a bad example for the rest of the nation, but of course the U.S. has no such monopoly on such (see: sponsorship scandal, Canada). But there is a decided difference in attitude between "everybody for themselves, rip off everybody because you know they'd rip you off if they could" attitude that is common in the "service" industries in many parts of the U.S., and the attitude you describe in Canuckistan. -E
