parting out my klr
Howdy list,
My 2001 KLR stuck in 3rd gear last year in Mexico and splitting the
cases is
beyond my mechanical abilities (or maybe my desire). I have a 640 Adventure
now which is more suited to my more dirt oriented riding. So I thought
I'd try
parting it out.
I want to start with the outer, easier to remove items first so the bike
doesn't end up
spread all around my garage. I can send photos.
The following Dual Star items are on the bike and will be for sale at
50% of retail. Go to
http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Brand/Kawasaki/For_KLR_650s.htm
for retail prices. That plus actual shipping cost.
skid plate $32.50
shift lever $14.00
radiator guard $30.00
water pump guard $16.00
master cylinder guard $7.50
low profile magnetic drain plug $7.50
brake bracket $21.50
Doohickey tools from Sagebrush Machine and new outer gasket -
the holder, puller, and gasket - $45.00 plus shipping
16 shim kit - I did a couple of valve adjustments on my klr and the
following shims are left: one 270, two 265, four 260, two 255, one 250,
one 245, two 240, two 235, and one 2-30.
$40.00 plus shipping
SOPgear titanium tire irons/axle wrench combos. You can see them at
http://www.sopgear.com/new_page_4.htm
They're light and work good as axle wrenches and as extra tire irons. I'd
carry another good, stronger tire iron along with these two.
$30.00 plus shipping
Stock seat - good condition, no tears $50.00 plus shipping
2001 fuel tank - two small dings by tank cap (shovel in garage
fell on it) $200
That's a start. Also a question - should I limit these posts to
vendor Friday? I can't remember the etiquette.

forl oil 7.5wt
7.5wt fork oil can be made by blending 10wt and 5wt in equal parts (50/50)
Use the same brand oils for best resalts.I do it all the time........
