Did some one say they have gotten 7000 miles of a Kenda 270 rear tire? WOW! So these tires sound like a good replacement for my IRC GP1 when they wear out. I do about 50/50 and ridea lot of logging roads. Tom Baumen

I range 5K to 6K miles from a set and they wear evenly as a set. Still a great buy. Mark B2 A2 A3

My IRC GP1 tires are going to be due for replacement. I like them . They have been good on the street. I can lean way over at speed and they stick OK. They have also been fine for the type of logging road and light trail riding I have been doing. They only lasted about 3500 miles(rear). So how are the KENDAs on the street after the break in? Some have said they are great overall tires so what say yall now? I ride about 50/50 lately since I discovered this is the greatest urban assault vehicle yet, I run all my local errands on this thing. Tom

No problem on the street. It takes a while for the tires to get fully broken in. Just because the mold release is scrubbed off in 100 miles doesn't mean that they're ready. For the first 500 miles, I could lock the front at will with a stock brake system. Now that the trailing edge of the knobs has become rounded off from braking forces, it works much better. I commute to work every day on these tires. RM

The Kenda K270s are great for general street riding, but if you're used to the grip that an 80/20 tire gives in twisties, you'll be disappointed--especially the front. The main drawback on street though is the whine. The plus is the price. Hi, Just got a 5.10 x 17 Kenda 270 for my KLR. Two questions: 1. I don't see any arrow on the side wall indicating the tire orientation, is this normal ? 2. Does anyone know this tire speed rating ? thanks, Luiz.

They're bidirectional.

Don't know, but from personal experience they seem to work fine at a sustained 75-80mph. -Lujo [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

If it has a H in there, it good for 130 mph. http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/tiresafety/ridesonit/brochure.html Most of the way down the page. DOT speed ratings is the same for bikes and cars.

And if it rains you better park the bike. Mike >> [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
