The 93 A7 with the bright PINK KLR on the tank is indeed the rarest and fairest of them all. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

1996 or 97 were the big years for change. After that its just a color choice.

Nice going Neal. You've really opened a can of worms here. Now you can read why each readers year is the best when everyone really knows that the beautiful dark green, camo green, army green, forest green A15 (2001) was the best. Forget about the red or pink ones, the blue ones and the pink and blue ones. Go for green.

The other thing that everybody knows is that the blue ones last longer than the red ones. DC Denis Dimick wrote:

Since I like them all, I would vote for a newer one but one with a variety of body parts, in varying colors from each model year. You know, a lime green tank, blue front fender, red rear fender, army green fairing, Barbie radiator shrouds, and some random side panels in a nice contrasting color. Make sure the left side is a different color than the right! "Say, uhh, what year is that?" "Oh, it's a two thousand nineteen hunnderd eleven teen, model A10/20" ----------------------------------- OK, if you read through my wise guy act, value is pretty much relative to the condition of the bike. Since there are virtually no changes whatsoever from 1996 to 2006 (aside from color), then the best deal would be the lowest priced bike in the best condition. My vote would go for something in the 1997-2001 year range, low mileage, good cosmetic and mechanicals. $3,000 for an excellent one, to as low as $2,000 for one with scuffs and dents but still good shape mechanically. Year doesn't really matter, although you should pay less the older the bike is.

I wanted one of them there solid green 2000 models, but was afraid that if I walked more than 100 feet away from it in the forest, I wouldn't be able to find it, so I got a red one.
