Hi,
I'm in no hurry, but thought I'd offer to host a doohickey party for
any persons interested in getting together to upgrade their bikes. I
have a two car garage, a motorcycle maintenance platform, and hand
tools (but not the specialty tools needed for the doohickey
replacement). Let me know of your interest and I'll try to find a
weekend that works for us.
Thanks,
Jay

doohickey party--new hampshire seacoast
I'd be into that, I just picked up my A20 yesterday. I'm in southern
VT, Exeter isn't a terrible sight of a ride. Might even convince one
of my other KLR pals to get in on it.
I don't have the special tools, anyone coming who might? If nothing
else, I can order a set.
Let me know on dates etc, and we'll go from there.

doohickey ok
just changed my A15 doohickey & spring with one obtained from Fred.
The original doo & spring were still in pristine condition at 13000km
(6000 miles). The weld on the doo was smooth and well made, not like
some that I have seen on some websites. I also adjusted my valves. 1
intake & one exhaust was way below spec. I doubt the previous owner had
adjusted them.
Other than that I am a happy camper. I am running D606's in front &
rear, this should prove to be interesting once the washed out roads
dry up
1 question -- the bike pings under hard acceleration in fifth gear.
under moderate accelaration there is no pinging. At the present time I
am running regular grade gas. IMO this is normal, any comments?
Thanks
