carb diaphram help, please

Post by Duncan Cooper » Mon Feb 27, 2006 2:42 pm

My CVK had a hole in the diaphram. I have it all disassembled and ready to replace. Fred from Arrowhead sez there is a Harley part which is the same as Kaw's, only bunches cheaper. Before I go into the dealership, does anyone know the HD part number, or which bike it is off? (a Sportster of some kind, I think). Thanks for your help J Duncan Cooper Cleveland, OH

Harley dealers carry a slide/diaphragm assembly, part number 27585-88, for Kehin CVK40 carbs. List price is usually around $40. For a temporary repair, Park Tool makes small, clear, flexible patches for bicycle tubes that will do the job. Pulled from the KLR650 FAQ maintained by Chris Krok - El Krokko! (not verified by me, but I'm 99.9% sure it's right - let us know, ok?) all the best, Mike

Duncan, Try an 883 Sportster. Should be the same part. Last time I checked locally they had 5 on the shelf for about $45.
