hi guys , i just read the usd$30 balancer chain mail.
and it got me thinking. cant i replace my balancer chain with some
other chain with the same size and length? ok myabe they dont come with
the silverish link markers butit should work as well.
what about the timing chain? is there any known alternative replacement
to it as well?

I don't know. However, if you cannot find one off of a KLR,
somebody reported that a fan motor off an EX500 is the same.
