good washington trails

Post by Scott Critchfield » Mon Oct 24, 2005 12:58 am

Hi All, I just returned from a great weekend of technical off-road riding at Kennedy Meadows on my YZ250, in Sequoia National Forest...great, with the exception of Alex taking a header on the upper Jackass trail, and breaking three ribs. He will survive, and he will ride again. Regardless, this great woods riding reminded me of Washington, and all the wonderful opportunities that do exist, despite a resistant state legislature. My diatribe of 10/19 would lose all of its moral authority, were I not to illustrate what is good...very good in the state of Washington. Manashtash - Over 300 miles of great single track, which winds east to west, from north of Manashtash proper, over Manashtash Ridge, to well south of the Naches area. USFS maintained and managed. Ranger John McCafferey knows every twist of every trail, and is a very nice guy to boot - always willing to help out, knows his bikes, and just loves to chat. Goose Creek - Near Lake Wenatchee - More trails than can be covered in a...well, a very long time. A trail system that, if your off-road bike is street-licensed, can actually tie in with the Manashtash/Naches trail system. Maintained and managed by the Chelan County Sheriff's Department, the Goose Creek area contains trails, trails, and more trails; high and low, from put-put to gnarly technical. Upper Chihuahua to Lower Mad Lake is about as freaky as it gets - there's also plenty in the middle for less experienced and/or less adventurous riders. While this trail information is a somewhat off the typical KLR beat, I hope it is of use to some of you. Cheers, Scott [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

new klr parts on ebay - stainless fastner kits, valve shim kit

Post by John Baker » Mon Oct 24, 2005 7:30 pm

I just placed a few KLR 650 parts on eBay. I sold my KLR a few weeks ago and have some left over stuff - including a new stainless engine cover bolt kit and a stainless fastner kit for the body, as well as a valve shim kit. You can find the links to the eBay sale items on my webpage at: http://www.hangar9aeroworks.com/Hangar%20Sale.html Since I don't check here often, if you have questions, it is best to contact me directly through the contact info on my web page or through the eBay system. Thanks! John Baker Damascus, Maryland www.hangar9aeroworks.com
