klr turnsignal plastico

Post by anti-js_v » Wed Mar 09, 2005 12:18 pm

totally frustrated on getting my rear turnsignals replaced since the 'biff' of Dec. gone thru 2 sets of aftermarket signal sets and the KLR either roasts the 23W bulbs or actually burns the lead right off the bulb pot. So I'll just go back to the stock signals for now. Problem is on one side the signal housing was munched so bad in the fall the black plastic housing just disintegrated... Does anyone have a black housing (just the roundish housing part, don;t need the stalk or anyhting else) they wouldn't mind selling me? Okay if it has 'luv rubs' from street luging or is even cracked - I can fix... Thanks js

Well , I've developed a problem. Either I or the unit. Installed free magnet on the front brake rotor with alumaweld holding in it place. Mounted pickup on fork with tie wrap holding it in place. My tied down points for the lead is the front fork then to the front brake hose up and around the instrament panel. Finally got the unit from KH/M to M/H and not sure how I did that? Turned the front wheel and got a mph reading and ometer reading. Didn't have what I needed to attach the business end to the top of the speedo/tacho so secured for the night. This morning I bought some velcro and mounted it to the top of the speedo. Took it for a run. All that works is the little arrow starts flashing when rolling and the RT starts counting. Niether the Speedo or are Ometer are functioning. I tried different placements. Took the whole unit off the bike and checked it passing the magnetic bolt across the sensor in several places and all I get to happening is the flashing arrow at the top left of the speedo window and the RT starts counting. Anyone have any ideas? Before I call Fred for advice? Andy in Louisina.

I don't have one so just a wild guess. Did you try to calibrate it yet? Walt -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Andrus Chesley"

I'm not trying to be mean, but did you read the directions? Sounds like you might be in the wrong mode. Did you already set the tire circumference so the electronics can figure what your mph is? Alan Henderson A13 Iowa
