The other day, I looked in on my KLR to get it ready for the Elephant Ride. It had been
sitting for a while, and the battery was down, as I confirmed by turning on the key. When i
shut it off, the starter kept grinding, and finished running the battery down before I could
disconnect it.
I assumed I had fried my starter relay, and got right on the phone to Fred to see if I could
get a replacement in time to leave town on Wednesday. Instead of the part, which would
have had to come from Kawasaki anyway, what I got from Fred was reassurance and some
good advice. Sure enough, and just as he said, after charging the battery and giving the
relay a whack with a screwdriver handle, the relay seems to be working fine.

Glad you got your problem fixed and we all expect lots of pictures of your

You sure can but I don't think you can afford the tech support that comes
with it.

LOL!! Good one Steve.
I have had my share of "bad" dealers, and a few good ones. While kicking
tires on the new bikes, I have watched many customers stomp out with righteous
indignation because of "bad" service which was simply caused by them being
ignorant and inflexible.

Several of my dirt biking buddies work at the local dealership and oh, the
"customer" stories that I have heard. Those bad customers are part of the
miserable daily grind, all the more so for the good dealers that work to get
returning customers instead of customer returns.
